Hi, I'm Sophie Dykes, and I set up DIY Diva in February 2011. I had spent six years working part-time as the in-house handyman for a church and decided that I wanted to work on my own, full time, doing what I love.
I got into DIY as a small child, at my Dad's side. One of the first projects I remember carrying out on my own was carving a boat with an electric plane (a hand one was too boring by the time I was twelve!). I think my Mum encouraged me to help my Dad as I always tidied up after we'd finished! He was one of the many people in my life who have encouraged me to have a go at anything I was faced with, and to never say never.
Over the years, this means I've turned my hand to all sorts of tasks, from stud walls to brick walls, laminate floors to electric gates, painting of every kind of surface, carpentry of many kinds and plumbing in sinks, baths and showers.
If you have a job you need doing, contact me and I'll come and give you a free, no obligation quote.
